Should I Look Forward To Getting Old And Depending On Medicare?

I am a full time college student with 5 children. For anybody wondering I am almost 40. My oldest child is in college and resides on dorm, I also have 3 in high school and one in jr. high. Back in September my mother had spinal cord surgery done to correct back pain and was paralyzed during surgery. After spending four months between hospital and rehabilitation centers she has now been discharged but not to her home to mine.

Here is the dilemma. In America when you reach 64 you are eligible for Medicare. The problem with that is it needs to be reevaluated, revise, and rewritten. Medicare is suppose to be the access to healthcare but it doesnt. Medicare's focus is not on treating the sick patient but rather on preventative measures before you get sick.

It is truly sad that a person that works all their lives and has been taxed and made contributions to the state can not depend on the state when they fall ill. The medical needs of the person is limited because of guidelines that are only in place to hinder in ones successful recovery.
