The Middle Class

When you ask what’s killing the American middle class and why save it, one would have to also ask aren't human lives worth it. I believe the shrinking middle class is a consequence of rising income inequalities. Families suffer because the disparities in resources causes a great impact on society. If the middle class cant progress it will make us regress because you aren't able to successfully move forward. Is our motto tax the middle class and drive them broke and give tax cuts to the rich so they can get richer. What a fucked up world we live in? Its like taking a blind man in the middle of nowhere and expecting him to find his way home. Some shit is impossible. This government we live in is so broken and it has us living in a alternative reality. We you take a look at who has become the new rich it varies from the old rich greatly. Just look at whose getting rich and whose still struggling. We also have to examine the necessities that we cannot go without and still be su...

Far From Equal

In America they say "All Men Are Created Equal" but is that the truth. I guess it would depend on what side of the fence your standing on. From where I stand I have never believed that. Since the beginning of time black people were not even called human, they were referred to as live stock, So when were we equal. Yes throughout the years we were not called livestock but as we see instances on the news about racial discrimination it sure does seem as though we have moved away from the labeling and are just treated as such. If Thomas Jefferson was right everyone would  have an equal chance at reaching success. We would  need to simply work hard and play by the rules and we will get ahead. Now that sounds like a good deal. As children we are encouraged that when we grow up, we can be anything we want to be. So not true. So how can all men are created equal be anywhere near true. When you find out please let me know.

Emmet Til: Early Inequality

This was a sad story. Fourteen-year-old African American Emmett Till was visiting relatives in Mississippi, on August 24, 1955, when he was accused of whistling at Carolyn Bryant, a white woman who was a cashier at a grocery store. Four days later, Bryant's husband and his half-brother kidnapped Till, tortured, castrated and murdered him, then drowned him in the bayou. The men were tried for murder, but an all-white, male jury acquitted them. Till's murder and open casket funeral incited the emerging Civil Rights Movement.  The sad truth is social inequality goes way further than just jobs it applies to justice. It was known that these men did wrong and they still were found not guilty. Black lives didn’t matter to white folks then nor does it matter now. Then to find out several years later that she lied. Noone can give Emmett Till his life back and the individuals involved are now deceased and were never punished. If the question we want to figure out is can...
