Just Not Right

When you live in an area where the resources are there and children are given more opportunities of being successful there is still inequalities in resources. This year for example I have two children going off to college in the fall and this is where the resources vary. Children that goes to a good high school and live in a two parent household may be able to pay for SAT prep classes which are very expensive, Whereas the children from single parent households may not be able to afford, This is where the dilemma comes in at. Those children that do take SAT prep class have a 95% chance of scoring higher than a child without that prep. Now is that still allowing children the same opportunities absolutely not. So even though the resources may be available at the same school our financial situations at home still set students apart. Inequality is still  financially based when the resources are there, so in all honesty there can always be outside factors that make inequality still ine...

My Financial Situation

Image
Based on my household income and the number of people in my household,   I AM in the   MIDDLE   income tier, along with   51%   of adults in   NEW JERSEY . Among all American adults with my education, age, race or ethnicity, and marital status,  50%  are  LOWER  income,  45%  are  MIDDlE  income and  6%  are  UPPER  income. When I read both of these graphs it may seem as though my income puts me in the bracket of middle class but I am a single parent  and it definitely feels like I am low income. When your bills seem overwhelming and your piety cash is used for necessities where is the money.                                                               The only part that I find difficult is the fact that people always thi...

Social Inequality

I guess when you re talking about social inequality there are many different aspects one can explore. It would be nice if we could wake up one day and it could be stopped. But life isn't that easy. There really isn't one answer to solving this problem. Division of resources and color has put the most emphasis on life around us. Why is it that based on your geographical location determines your future?  In some instances your chances of getting ahead is determined by your opportunities in education. One would say that certain class of people were set up to fail. How could you get ahead if all the odds are against you. How could you become successful if knowledge is measured through IQ test?  How could you have a high IQ score if you are not provided with the resources you need to get the knowledge you need to acquire higher IQ score? With whom are you competitive? How can you get those resources living in communities that are considered low income and the materials given to ...

Rich Parent Poor Parents

Image
I chose this graph because rich or poor parents worry when it comes to their childrens' safety. It amazes me how much of a disparity there is in almost every area but teen pregnancy and bullying are two issues that money doesn’t matter when it comes to the outcome. The struggles with anxiety and depression money also didn’t matter both parents making money or just making it have equal concerns. A persons social economic status doesn’t change the problems being faced by our youths. According to this graph it shows that children are children and money may makes it less likely with certain concerns but there is a chance of things happening regardless.

Black or White

Its crazy that a big deal is made because the color of a person's skin. Once a job is needed it all comes down to who can do it. When we let color determine knowledge there may be a lot a company can lose out on. The main focus should be on functionality and company growth. As we can see by this picture no matter which head you turn to they all will do a great job.
