Republican Party Speaks with Sense
As for
much of my life I have always believed that the Republican Party was only
invested in keeping the poor poor and the rich rich. Not that I change my
beliefs about them this Presidential forum just opened my eyes to the common
views that are shared between both political parties. As I listened to all
speakers I would like to say that they all make some relevant points. Poverty is
a problem that doesn’t just affect the one place but communities all around the
world. Communities must work together to find solutions to making better
neighborhoods as said by Governor Nikki Haley. I like when she said until we find a solution quitting
is not the solution.
I agree
that poverty does deal with the quiet voices and it is true that if you improve
education than all things improve. I also agree that technology should be in
every school and where you live shouldn’t determine what your school can
provide to you. I also am pleased that there is a plan in South Carolina to pay
for a teaching degree if you commit to teaching in a poor community. This would
bring more teachers to school districts where they normally would have never
thought to teach and their burden of paying back loans would be taken over by
the school districts.
The idea
of bringing jobs into the welfare office is a great plan it has worked in different
areas now you can apply for welfare and get an interview to determine your
skills set and get referrals to a job. I agree with Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator
that if you create jobs educates people to fill jobs that will exist.
Paul D.
Ryan U.S. Reprenstative said that both political parties should be able to work
together to break the war on poverty. He also stated that more case workers in
the welfare than in hospital. The words of his grandmother that said it’s a sin
not to help people that need but it’s also a sin to help people that need to
help themselves.
I believe
that giving training and education will successfully empower the individual.
Governor John Kasich is determination gives you confidence
and you shouldn’t define yourself as a victim but you learn when you’re young
that when you fall down you get back up. Everyone must have a shot in order to
get passed the status quo.
The federal government plays a larger role and gives
children fewer opportunities for kids but how do you reverse that is a great
question.
I was surprisingly pleased by the words of Governor John
Kasich his 5 principles really stood out in my head. I think he was the best
speaker I feel as though me being a democrat he made points that regardless of
your political position you would agree with and to convince people that you
care and acknowledge the poverty problem we can actually make a difference.
Same, and while I feel that all politicians are corrupt and support neither side, this video helped me to come to an understanding that there is at least awareness about what is happening in this country and there are politicians willing to attempt to reverse or stop issues in their tracks.
